What the driver app home screen shows

The Upper driver app opens to your assigned routes — there's no accept or decline. Tap a route to see its stops, map, and totals, then start when you're ready.

When you open the Upper driver app, you land on a home screen that shows the routes your dispatcher has assigned to you. It's the starting point for every shift — open the app and your work is right there.

This article uses driver and delivery labels. If your workspace is set up for service work, you may see Technician, Proof of Service, and similar wording instead. The steps are the same.

What the home screen is for

You don't pick up routes yourself. Your dispatcher plans each route in the Upper web app and sends it to you with Share to Drivers. As soon as a route is shared, it appears on your home screen — there's nothing to accept or decline. The home screen is simply where every route assigned to you lives, so you never have to ask dispatch what you're doing today.

How routes reach your home screen

Dispatch can send a route to you in one of two ways:

  • Share Now — the route is sent immediately and shows up right away.
  • Schedule — dispatch picks a time, and the route reaches you then (for example, shortly before your shift starts).

Either way, there's no accept or reject step. Once a route has been shared to you, dispatch can watch it move along its status — from Ready for Dispatch to Dispatched, then In Transit while you're running it, and Completed when you finish.

Open a route and start working

Open the Upper driver app

Sign in with your own email and password if you aren't already signed in.

Find your route

Your assigned routes are listed on the home screen. Tap a route to open it.

Review the route

Opening a route shows its stops and map so you can see the work before you begin.

Start when you're ready

Begin the route from the open route view to start navigating to your first stop.

Pull down on the list to refresh. If dispatch tells you a route is on its way and you don't see it yet, refresh first before reaching out — a just-shared route usually appears right after a pull-to-refresh.

Troubleshooting

If you can't run a route that's been assigned to you, you don't decline it on the home screen — message dispatch so they can reassign or reschedule it. If you're still stuck, email support@upperinc.com.
