Add photos from camera or gallery

Add proof-of-delivery photos in the Upper driver app by taking a new photo with your camera, or by choosing one from your phone's gallery when your admin allows it.

When you complete a stop in the Upper Driver app, you can attach a photo as proof of delivery. You can take a new photo with your phone's camera, and — if your admin has turned it on — choose an existing photo from your phone's gallery instead. Either way, the photo is saved with the stop and travels back to your dispatcher.

Your workspace may label this Proof of Delivery or Proof of Service depending on how your company set up Upper, and your role as Driver or Technician. The steps are the same either way.

Before you start

  • Camera access — The app needs permission to use your camera. If you can't see a way to take a photo, check your permissions first. See Allow location and camera permissions.
  • What your admin requires — Your admin sets whether a photo is required to complete a stop, and whether you're allowed to pick photos from your gallery. If an option below doesn't appear, your workspace hasn't enabled it.

Take a new photo

Open the stop's proof screen

Open the stop you're working and go to its proof-of-delivery section.

Choose to add a photo

Tap the option to add a photo and pick your camera.

Take the photo

Frame the delivery and capture the photo.

Confirm and save

Confirm the photo, then save it to the stop. It attaches to that stop's record.

If your admin has enabled gallery uploads for your workspace, you can attach a photo that's already saved on your phone instead of taking a new one.

Open the stop's proof screen

Open the stop and go to its proof-of-delivery section.

Tap the option to add a photo and pick your phone's gallery or photo library.

Select the photo

Browse your photos and choose the one you want to attach.

Confirm and save

Confirm your selection, then save it to the stop.

A photo you take at the door shows the delivery as it is right now. A gallery photo can be from any time, so use it when you need to attach a reference image rather than fresh proof of the delivery.

When a photo is required

Your admin can require a photo before you complete a stop, and can set this separately for completed stops and for skipped stops. When a photo is required, the app prompts you for it as part of completing or skipping the stop. If you're unsure what your workspace requires, ask your dispatcher.
