When your dispatcher shares a route to you, it opens in the Upper driver app as a full list of stops in the order Upper planned them. Scanning the whole list before you set off tells you what your day looks like — where the early stops are, where the tight time windows fall, and where you can fit a break.
This article uses driver and delivery labels (Proof of Delivery, Delivery Options). If your workspace is set up for service work, you may see Technician, Proof of Service, and Service Options instead. The steps are the same.
Before you start
- A route that your dispatcher has shared to you, so it shows up when you open the app.

Open the route
Open the route your dispatcher shared to you. It opens to the full list of stops.
Read the stops in order
The stops appear in delivery order — the sequence Upper planned for the route. Scroll the list to see every stop from first to last.
Open a stop for its details
Tap a stop to open it and see that stop's full details, including the customer's contact information.
What each stop shows
Each stop in the list carries the details your dispatcher set on the web side. Depending on how the stop was set up, you may see:
- The address for the stop.
- A time window — the period you're expected to arrive in. A stop can have up to two time windows.
- The stop's status as you work the route (for example, still to do versus completed or skipped).
Stops can also carry a priority (Crucial, High, Medium, or Low) and a stop type (Delivery, Pickup, or None) that your dispatcher set when building the route.
Check the time windows before you begin. If a later stop has a tight window and an earlier one has none, plan your breaks and any detours around the tight windows. To change the actual order of stops, ask your dispatcher — the sequence is set on the route, not in the list view.
Open a stop for full details
Tap a stop to open it. The opened stop shows the customer's contact information — their name, phone number, and email where those were entered — along with any notes your dispatcher added for that stop. From the opened stop you can start navigation and, when you arrive, mark it complete or skip it.

Use the app offline
The Upper driver app keeps running the route you already have open when your signal drops. Work your stops offline and they sync to dispatch once you reconnect.
