Enable or disable notifications
Route alerts in the Upper driver app are decided by dispatch. What you control is whether your phone lets Upper send notifications at all — turn them on or off in your phone settings.
In the Upper driver app, route-related alerts are tied to what dispatch sets up on a route — there isn't a per-alert toggle inside the app for you to switch on or off. What you can control is whether your phone lets Upper send notifications at all. That's handled in your phone's system settings, the same place you manage notifications for any other app.
Your workspace may label drivers as technicians and show Service labels instead of Delivery. Notifications work the same either way.
How driver-app notifications work
- When dispatch shares a route to you, Upper sends a notification to your phone so you know there's new work. (See Receive an assigned route.)
- Other alerts depend on how dispatch has set up the route on the web app. These are decided centrally, not from a switch on your phone.
- Because the triggers live on the dispatch side, the way to change which alerts you get is to talk to your dispatcher — not to adjust a setting in the app.
Turn Upper notifications on or off
You allow or block Upper's notifications in your phone's system settings.
iOS
Open iPhone Settings, find Upper in the app list, tap Notifications, and toggle Allow Notifications on or off.
Android
Open Phone Settings > Apps > Upper > Notifications and toggle notifications on or off.
Blocking Upper at the phone level stops every alert — including the one that tells you a new route has been shared to you.
Keep notifications on. If your phone is silenced and you miss the alert that a route was shared to you, the route can sit unstarted until dispatch calls you. An occasional buzz costs far less than a delayed route.
