Mark a stop as completed

Finish a delivery in the Upper driver app: capture any required proof of delivery and notes, then mark the stop complete so the work syncs back to dispatch.

When you finish a delivery, mark the stop completed in the Upper driver app. Marking a stop complete records any proof of delivery your workspace requires and sends that work back to dispatch, where it appears in the web app under Tasks > Completed with its proof, timestamps, and notes.

Labels vary by workspace. If your workspace is set up for service work, you may see Technician, Proof of Service, and Service Options in place of Driver, Proof of Delivery, and Delivery Options. The steps are the same.

Mark a stop as completed

Finish the delivery, then open the stop

After you complete the delivery at the customer's location, switch back to the Upper driver app and open the stop you just worked.

Capture any required proof of delivery

Your admin decides what is required to complete a stop. Depending on your workspace settings, you may be prompted to add one or more of these before you can finish:

  • Photos — one or more images of the drop-off
  • Signature — a signature from the recipient
  • Notes — a typed note about the delivery

If your workspace requires none of these — or your admin has turned on Complete / Skip on click — you can mark the stop complete in a single tap.

Mark the stop complete

Once the required proof is captured, mark the stop complete. The stop is recorded as completed and your route progress updates so you can move on to your next stop.

Check what's required when you first open the stop. If your workspace requires a photo, signature, or note to complete a stop, you can't finish until that requirement is met — so reviewing the proof-of-delivery fields up front saves a trip back.

What you can add before completing

  • Photos — one or more images for proof of delivery
  • Signature — from the person accepting the delivery
  • Notes — typed context about what happened at the stop (these reach dispatch as the Note from Driver)
  • Custom-field answers — if your admin set up stop-completion custom fields, you fill them here

What happens after you complete a stop

  • The completed stop and its proof of delivery flow back to the web app. Once a dispatched route is finished, dispatch can review the stop under Tasks > Completed along with its proof of delivery, timestamps, and notes.
  • The completed-stop view in the web app can show columns including the photo, signature, Note from Driver, and arrival time.

ETAs for a route are based on historical traffic data, not a live feed, so the time estimates dispatch sees are projections rather than minute-by-minute readings.
