The Upper driver app is built for drivers — receiving assigned routes, navigating stop by stop, and capturing proof of delivery in the field. Admins and dispatch managers run their work from the web app at my.upperinc.com instead, which opens in any mobile browser when you are away from your desk.
Some workspaces use Technician/Service labels instead of Driver/Delivery (this is configurable per workspace). If your account shows "Technician," the guidance below still applies — the driver app is for the people running routes, and the web app is for the people planning and dispatching them.
Why the app is driver-only
A driver-only app keeps the on-road experience focused: the stop list, navigation, and the actions a driver needs to complete or skip each stop. Planning, dispatching, and tracking the whole fleet is the opposite job — it needs the wider view that the web app provides. Because of this split, there is no separate admin mobile app. Signing into the driver app with an admin email shows the driver workflow, not the web dashboard.
What each surface is for
| Surface | Who uses it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile driver app (iOS, Android) | Drivers | Receive assigned routes, navigate stop by stop, and capture proof of delivery |
| Web app (my.upperinc.com) | Admins, dispatch managers | Create and optimize routes, share routes to drivers, track the fleet, manage users and vehicles |
Using the web app from your phone
When you need to check on things away from your desk, open my.upperinc.com in your phone's browser and sign in with your admin account. From there you can reach the same dispatch and tracking tools you use on desktop. Full route planning and account settings are designed for a larger screen, so they are more comfortable on desktop.
If you regularly need to send routes while you are out, plan and optimize the route earlier from desktop, then use the Schedule tab in the Share to Drivers window so the route reaches drivers automatically at the time you choose.
