Troubleshoot offline mode issues
Offline work not showing for dispatch? Reconnect to a stable network and reopen the Upper driver app. Held work usually syncs within moments once signal returns.
The Upper driver app holds the work you complete offline on your phone and syncs it back to dispatch once your connection returns. If your offline stops are not showing up for your dispatcher, the fix is almost always getting back onto a stable network and reopening the app. Your work stays on the device until it can upload.
Most workspaces use driver and delivery labels (Proof of Delivery, Delivery Options). If your workspace is set up for service work, you may see Technician, Proof of Service, and similar labels instead. The behavior is the same.
Why a stuck sync matters
A stop you completed offline does not appear on your dispatcher's view until it syncs. Until then, your progress, your captured proof of delivery, and your timestamps are all still sitting on your phone. Catching a sync that has not gone through — and getting back into coverage so it can finish — keeps your dispatcher's view accurate and your completed work safe.
Before you start
- A working internet connection — confirm cellular data or Wi-Fi is actually passing traffic, not just showing a signal bar.
- The Upper driver app installed and signed in. Do not remove or reinstall it while you still have unsynced work.
Get your offline work to sync
Confirm your phone has a real connection
Check that cellular data or Wi-Fi is on and working. A phone can show a signal while the data connection is not actually passing traffic, so try loading something else to confirm.
Open the Upper app
With a connection back, open the app and give it a moment. It picks up the connection and starts uploading the work you completed offline on its own — there is nothing to switch on or upload by hand.
Close and reopen the app if nothing happens
If your held work has not synced after a moment, close the Upper app fully and reopen it, then wait again.
Confirm dispatch can see it
Your completed and skipped stops, with any proof you captured, should now appear in the web app under Tasks > Completed with proof of delivery, timestamps, and notes.
Do not delete or reinstall the Upper app while you still have offline work that has not synced. Removing the app before it uploads risks losing that work. Wait until everything has synced before changing the app on your phone.
