Update your profile

Keep your driver profile up to date in Upper. See what you can change from the phone app and what your admin updates for you in the web app.

Your driver profile holds the details Upper uses to reach you and run your routes — your name, your contact details, and the schedule and vehicle settings tied to your account. Most of these are set up and maintained by your admin in the Upper web app. This article explains what lives where, so you know who to ask when something needs to change.

Depending on your workspace, your role may be labelled Driver or Technician. The details below are the same either way.

Who manages your profile

When your admin adds you to Upper, they create your profile and set your details in the web app at my.upperinc.com. Your name, email, phone number, schedule, and vehicle settings all start there. If any of these need to change, your admin updates them from the Users page.

Tell your admin what's changing

Contact your admin or dispatcher and let them know what needs updating — a new phone number, a new email, a name correction, or any other detail.

Your admin makes the change

From the web app, your admin opens the Users page, finds your name, and edits your details there.

Confirm it took effect

Once your admin saves the change, sign out and back in on the phone app so it picks up the latest details.

A current phone number matters most. If dispatch can't reach you mid-route, stops can stall. Whenever your number changes, tell your admin right away so they can update it.

What you can change from the app

What you're able to adjust on the phone depends on the permissions your admin has turned on for your workspace. If a setting appears in the app, you can change it. If it doesn't, it's locked on the admin side and your admin manages it for you.

Two account-related controls that may be available to you in the app:

  • Your password — you can change the password you sign in with at any time. See Change your password from the app.
  • Your start and end addresses — if your admin has enabled schedule overrides for your workspace, you can adjust where your route starts and ends from the app.

What your admin controls

These are set on your profile in the web app and aren't changed from the phone:

  • Vehicle profile and vehicle type
  • Shift start and end times
  • Your default navigation map
  • Your user role

If any of these are wrong, ask your admin to update them from the Users page in the web app.
