Monitor routes from your phone

Live tracking lives on the Upper web dashboard, not the driver app. Open my.upperinc.com in your phone's browser for a quick, mobile-friendly status read.

Want to check on your drivers while you're away from your desk? Live route monitoring runs on the Upper web dashboard, not in the driver app. The driver app is built for the people running routes. To watch routes in progress from a phone, open my.upperinc.com in any mobile browser and sign in with your dispatcher account.

The driver app shows a driver their own assigned route. It does not show the dispatch-side map of everyone's progress. For that, use the web dashboard — on a computer or in a phone browser.

Before you start

  • A dispatcher account. You sign in to the web dashboard with the same account you use to plan and share routes — not the driver app login.
  • Live Location turned on for your drivers. Driver positions appear on the map only when Enable Live Location is on in App Config (the Navigation section). If it's off, you'll still see route and stop status, but not live driver positions.

Open the dashboard on your phone

Open your phone's browser

Use any mobile browser — Safari, Chrome, or whatever you normally use.

Go to my.upperinc.com

Type my.upperinc.com into the address bar.

Log in with your dispatcher account.

Open your live tracking view

Go to the part of the dashboard that shows routes in progress to see driver positions and stop progress.

What you can check from your phone

When Enable Live Location is on, the dashboard shows where your drivers are and how each route is progressing:

  • Driver positions on the map
  • Per-stop progress along each route
  • Route status: Draft → Ready for Dispatch → Dispatched → In Transit → Completed

A phone browser is great for a quick status read between meetings. For building routes, importing stops, or running reports, switch to a computer where you have the full dashboard.

How positions and ETAs work

Driver positions on the map come from the Enable Live Location setting in App Config (Navigation section). It's a workspace-wide setting your admin controls and it applies to all drivers. Turn it off and the map won't show live driver positions, though route and stop status still update as drivers complete their work.

ETAs are based on historical traffic data for the route, not a live traffic feed.

Troubleshooting

Your workspace may label drivers as Technicians and use Service wording (for example, Proof of Service instead of Proof of Delivery). These labels are configurable per workspace; the steps are the same either way.
