Share reports with team members
Get Upper reports to your team: export from Analytics and send manually, or turn on automated Summary Reports that email performance metrics on a set schedule.
Upper gives you two ways to get reports in front of your team. Export a report from Analytics and send it yourself for one-off needs, or turn on Summary Reports so Upper emails your route-performance metrics on a recurring schedule. Distributed reporting keeps everyone working from the same numbers, supports decisions, and saves a meeting.
This article uses Upper's default driver / delivery labels (for example "Driver Performance"). Your workspace may show technician / service instead — the wording is configurable. The steps are the same either way.
Option 1 — Export a report and send it manually
Best for one-off reports, or when you want to send a specific report to specific people right now.
Open Analytics
In the left sidebar, open Track → Analytics.
Choose the report you want to share
Use the View by dropdown to pick the report — for example Route Plan Summary Report, Route Plan Detailed Report, or Driver Timesheet Report. Apply any filters (date range, route plan, drivers, status) so the report shows exactly what you want to share.
Open the Export modal
Select the Export button (top-right). In the Export window you can:
- Set the Export File Name.
- Choose the Format — CSV or XLS.
- Choose Fields — the Default field set, or switch to Custom to pick and reorder exactly which fields to include.
- Optionally tick Send e-mail when Export is complete so Upper notifies you when the file is ready.
Start the export and share the file
Select Start Export, then download the file and send it to your team by email, Slack, or your usual channel.
Before you export, use Customize Columns (the grid icon, top-right) to include only the columns your audience needs and drag them into a sensible order. Your column choices are saved per report, so the next export keeps the same layout.
Option 2 — Turn on automated Summary Reports
Best for recurring updates. Summary Reports are automated email reports covering your route-performance metrics and driver statistics, sent on a schedule with no manual work.
Open the Automations settings
Go to Settings → Automations → Summary Reports.
Enable Summary Reports
Turn on Enable Summary Reports to start receiving automated reports via email.
Set the frequency and format
- Report Frequency — how often you receive the report (for example Weekly (Every Monday)).
- Report Format — your preferred file format (for example PDF).
Save
Select Save Changes.
Each report includes total routes and completion rates, service success metrics (completed vs failed stops), individual driver performance statistics, and period-over-period comparisons.
Schedule: weekly reports are sent every Monday at 8:00 AM (covering the previous 7 days). Monthly reports are sent on the 1st of each month at 8:00 AM (covering the previous month).
Summary Reports are sent to the account owner's email. If a teammate needs the recurring report, the owner can forward it, or you can send any report manually using Option 1.
Which approach to use
| Situation | Best approach |
|---|---|
| One-off report for a specific person or client | Manual export (Option 1) |
| You need to choose exact columns or filters before sending | Manual export (Option 1) |
| Recurring weekly or monthly performance recap | Summary Reports (Option 2) |
| A filterable data file for follow-up analysis | Manual CSV/XLS export (Option 1) |
