Export reports

Export Upper analytics reports as CSV or XLS for data work. Set your date range, pick routes and columns, name the file, and download or email it.

Upper lets you export the reports in Analytics so you can archive them, audit them, or load them into a spreadsheet or BI tool. You choose the report, set your filters, pick your columns, then download the file or have Upper email it when it's ready.

Default labels in this article are driver and delivery. Your workspace may show technician and service instead — the wording is configurable, but the steps are the same.

Pick a format for the audience

The right format depends on who the file is for:

  • CSV or XLS is for data work — open it in Excel or Google Sheets, run analysis, or import it into a BI tool. This is the format the Analytics Export modal produces.
  • A spreadsheet export of the Route Plan Detailed Report gives you the deepest dataset: one row per stop, with addresses, timing, status, and proof-of-delivery references. Use it when you need everything in one file.

The exact set of formats offered in the Export modal is set by Upper and can vary by report. CSV and XLS are the formats confirmed for the Analytics reports.

Export a report

Open Analytics

In the left sidebar, open Track → Analytics. The page header reads Analytics.

Choose a report

Open the View by dropdown and select the report you want to export — for example, Route Plan Summary Report (one row per route) or Route Plan Detailed Report (one row per stop).

Set your filters

Click the Filter icon (top-right) to open the filters panel and set them, then click Apply:

  • Date Range — cover every route you want in the file. The report defaults to the last 7 days.
  • Select Route Plan — choose All, or pick specific route plans.
  • Drivers — choose All, or filter to specific drivers.
  • Optionally narrow by Route Plan Status or Stop Status.

Choose your columns (optional)

Click the Customize Columns icon (the table/grid icon, top-right) to open the Edit Column dialog. Search for columns, check or uncheck them, and drag the rows under Selected Column to reorder. Click Done to save. Upper keeps your selection per report.

Open the Export modal

Click the Export button (top-right). The Export modal opens.

Set the file name, format, and fields

  • Export File Name — pre-filled with the report name; rename if you like.
  • Format — choose CSV or XLS.
  • Fields — use the Default tab for the report's standard field set, or switch to Custom to pick exactly which fields to include and reorder them. The Custom tab has Select All / Select None toggles.
  • Optionally tick Send e-mail when Export is complete.

Start the export

Click Start Export to generate the file.

For a large date range, export in smaller batches — a month at a time is easier to verify and handle than a full year in one file.

Set a default report

Each report row in the View by dropdown has a star icon. Click the star to make that report your favorite — it loads automatically the next time you open Analytics, so the report you export most is one click away.

When to use each report

Route-level overview to share or archiveRoute Plan Summary Report
Full stop-level data for analysis or auditRoute Plan Detailed Report
Record of SMS notifications sentRoute Plan SMS Detailed Report
Record of email notifications sentRoute Plan Email Detailed Report
Driver hours for a pay periodDriver Timesheet Report

Which reports appear in View by depends on your plan and workspace settings. The Summary and Detailed reports are available to everyone; the SMS, Email, and Driver Timesheet reports appear only for workspaces whose plan and settings include them.

Common scenarios

  • Monthly leadership review — Export the Route Plan Summary Report for the month as CSV, then pivot it in a spreadsheet for KPI charts.
  • Audit pull for one contract — Filter the Route Plan Detailed Report by the matching route plan and date range, choose only the columns the auditor asked for, and export.
  • Move data into a BI tool — Export the Detailed Report with a Custom field set, then import. Because the columns are stable, the pipeline is a one-time setup.
