Export proof of delivery images
Export proof-of-delivery photos and signatures from Upper — as a PDF Detailed Report with embedded images or a CSV with Photo and Signature columns.
Upper gives you two ways to get proof-of-delivery (POD) photos and signatures out of the app. The Detailed Report (PDF) embeds the images right in the file, which is ideal for sharing or printing. The CSV export from Analytics includes Photo and Signature columns alongside structured stop data, which is ideal for processing many routes at once. Pick the format that fits your audience.
Your workspace may label drivers as technicians and deliveries as services. This guide uses the default driver/delivery wording; the steps work the same either way.
Why this matters
A captured photo and signature is what closes a delivery dispute, supports an audit, and confirms service to a customer. Exporting turns those in-app records into a portable file you can share or archive.
Before you start
- POD must be captured on the stops. Only stops where the driver recorded a photo or signature will have image data to export. Stops without POD will export blank in those columns.
- Permissions. You'll need access to the Route Plan list (for the PDF) or the Analytics page (for the CSV).
Option 1 — Detailed Report (PDF), images embedded
Choose this when you want a printable record or a single file to share with a customer or auditor.
Open the Route Plan list
Go to Route Plan in the left sidebar and find the route you want.
Open the route's menu
Click the three-dot icon next to the route.
Generate the Detailed Report (PDF)
Select Detailed Report (PDF). Upper generates a stop-by-stop PDF with the captured photos and signatures embedded.
A Detailed Report with many photos can take several seconds to generate. Wait for the download to finish before closing the tab.
Option 2 — CSV export from Analytics
Choose this when you need POD data across many routes, or want to load it into a spreadsheet or another system. The Route Plan Detailed Report in Analytics has one row per stop and includes Photo and Signature columns.
Open the Detailed Report in Analytics
Go to Analytics in the left sidebar (under Track). Open the View by dropdown and select Route Plan Detailed Report.
Filter to the routes you need
Open the Filter panel (filter icon, top right) and set the Date Range, Select Route Plan, and Drivers filters. You can also filter by Route Plan Status and Stop Status (for example, Stop Status = Success). Click Apply.
Add the Photo and Signature columns
Click the Customize Columns icon (top right) to open the Edit Column modal. Check Photo and Signature in the column list, then click Done.
Export
Click the Export button (top right) to open the Export modal. Set the Export File Name, choose a Format (CSV or XLS), and confirm your fields on the Default or Custom tab. Optionally check Send e-mail when Export is complete, then click Start Export.
The Photo and Signature columns hold a reference to each captured image rather than the image file itself. The Detailed Report (PDF) is the format that embeds the actual images.
When to use each format
| Need | Use |
|---|---|
| Printable record to share with a customer or auditor | Detailed Report (PDF) |
| Visual proof embedded in one file | Detailed Report (PDF) |
| POD across many routes at once | CSV export from Analytics |
| Load POD data into a spreadsheet or another system | CSV export from Analytics |
Common scenarios
- A customer disputes a delivery. Generate the Detailed Report (PDF) for that route and share the page showing the photo, signature, and completion time.
- Periodic compliance review. Export the CSV for the period with the Photo and Signature columns enabled, filtered to the relevant routes or drivers.
- Bulk POD pull for a large account. CSV from Analytics, filtered by route and driver, with the Photo and Signature columns added.
