Log out drivers from all devices

Remotely log a driver out of every device in Upper to end active app sessions instantly. Pair it with a password reset to fully secure a lost or stolen device.

When a phone goes missing or a driver leaves, you can end their active app sessions on the spot. From Manage → Users in Upper, the row action menu lets you log a driver out of every device at once, so their account access stops the moment you act instead of whenever the device next syncs.

Upper uses the label driver by default, but your workspace may show Technician instead (and delivery may appear as service). The steps are identical whichever label your account uses.

Why this matters

A driver's mobile session holds route details, customer information, and the ability to mark stops complete. If a device is lost, stolen, or in the wrong hands, you want that session ended immediately. Logging out from all devices does exactly that, without waiting on the driver or the device.

Before you start

  • Permissions — You need an admin-level role to log a driver out from the Users list.
  • Decide whether to also reset the password — Logging out ends the current sessions; a password reset stops anyone from signing back in with the old credentials.

Log a driver out of all devices

Open the action menu

Go to Manage → Users in the left sidebar and find the driver in the list. Click the kebab (three-dot) Action icon at the end of their row.

Select Logout From All Devices

Choose Logout From All Devices from the menu.

The driver's sessions end across every device immediately. To use the app again, they'll need to sign in with their current credentials.

After a lost or stolen device, do both: log the driver out and reset the password. The logout ends the current session; the new password prevents the device from signing back in if the wrong person recovers it.

Common scenarios

  • Driver lost their phone over the weekend — On Monday, log them out and reset the password. Hand over the new password when they pick up a replacement device.
  • Driver leaves the company today — Log them out, then remove the driver. Both cut access; removing the driver also frees the seat.
  • You spotted activity at an unexpected hour — Log out and reset the password as a precaution, then review recent route history.
