Export driver performance data
Export driver performance data from Upper's Analytics reports as a CSV or XLS file for monthly trend reviews, payroll inputs, or external reporting.
You can export driver performance data from Upper's Analytics reports as a downloadable file. Use exports for monthly trend reviews, payroll inputs, or any analysis you'd rather run in a spreadsheet.
The in-app Dashboard is good for spot checks and weekly reviews. For longer-term work — month-over-month comparisons, payroll, or external reporting — export the underlying report data and open it in a spreadsheet.
Upper uses "driver" by default, but your workspace may show "technician" instead (the label is configurable). If you see "Technician" in the menus, it's the same thing.
Where driver data lives
There are two places to work with driver performance:
- Dashboard (left sidebar → Dashboard) — read-only widgets for a quick look. It shows KPIs such as Total Routes Completed, Total Stops Completed, On-Time Service Rate, Missed/Skipped Stops, and Average Stops per Route, plus per-driver panels like Routes Completed by Technician, On-time Rate by Technician, and Average Service time per stop. Use the date-range filter at the top right to set the period.
- Analytics (left sidebar → Track → Analytics) — the report views you can filter, customize, and export to a file.
To get data out as a spreadsheet, use Analytics.
Choose the right report
Open Track → Analytics, then use the View by dropdown at the top to pick a report. The ones most useful for driver work are:
- Driver Timesheet Report — driver shift and time data.
- Route Plan Summary Report — one row per route (columns include Route Name, Technician Name, Date, Est Duration, Actual Duration, Status).
- Route Plan Detailed Report — one row per stop (columns include Route Name, Route Date, Technician Name, Stop Address, Stop No, and more), useful for stop-level analysis.
Filter to the data you want
Before exporting, narrow the report with the filter panel.
Open the filters
Click the filter icon at the top right of the Analytics table to open the Filters panel.
Set your filters
Set any of:
- Date Range — the period you want to report on.
- Drivers — set to a specific driver, or leave as All.
- Select Route Plan — a single route plan, or All.
- Route Plan Status and Stop Status — narrow by route or stop state.
Apply
Click Apply. The table refreshes to match your filters.
To export one driver's data, set the Drivers filter to that driver before you export. The export uses the data currently shown in the report.
Customize which columns export
If you want to add or remove fields, click the Customize Columns icon in the Analytics toolbar, check the columns you want in the Edit Column window, then choose Done. You can also adjust the field list inside the Export window itself (see below).
Export to a file
Open the Export window
With your report and filters set, click the blue Export button at the top of the Analytics screen.
Name the file and choose a format
In the Export window:
- Edit the Export File Name if you want.
- Choose a Format — CSV or XLS. (XLS is selected by default.)
Pick your fields
Use the Fields tabs:
- Default — exports the report's standard field set.
- Custom — check only the fields you want and reorder them with the up/down arrows. Select All / Select None are available.
(Optional) Get an email when it's ready
Tick Send e-mail when Export is complete if you'd like a notification — useful for large exports.
Start the export
Click Start Export.
Common scenarios
- Monthly performance review — Set the Date Range to the prior month, export the Route Plan Summary Report, save the file, and compare it against the previous month's export.
- Payroll inputs — Export the Driver Timesheet Report for the pay period and hand the file to whoever runs payroll.
- Per-driver analysis — Filter Drivers to one person, then export so the file contains only their routes or stops.
Troubleshooting
If a detail isn't covered here — for example whether photos or signatures appear inside the exported file — check the report's own columns or contact support@upperinc.com.

Edit driver details
Edit any driver's profile in Upper from Manage → Users: update vehicle, schedule, start and end addresses, and navigation. Changes apply to future routes.
Handle driver password resets
Reset a driver's password from Upper's Manage → Users list. Set a new password from the row action menu, then share the credentials so the driver can log back in.
