Transfer account ownership
Transfer Upper Solo account ownership by contacting support via live chat or email. Only the current Owner can request the transfer; all data and billing move with it.
Ownership transfer is not a self-service action in Upper Solo. The current Owner contacts support, support verifies the request, and the transfer is processed manually.
Why this matters
Ownership controls billing, Admin user assignments, and the email address tied to the account. A manual transfer process prevents accidental or unauthorized handoffs.
Before you start
- Plan requirement — Available on every plan.
- Permissions — Only the current Owner can request a transfer.
- The new owner — They must have an existing Upper account or be ready to create one with the email they'll own.
Step-by-step: request a transfer
Contact Upper support with the details below.
- Live chat — Click the chat icon in the bottom right corner of your dashboard.
- Email — support@upperinc.com.
Include:
- Current Owner's name and email.
- New Owner's name and email.
- Reason for transfer (optional).
The support team verifies the request and completes the transfer.
All account data, settings, and billing responsibility transfer to the new Owner. Plan the handoff with the new Owner so they're ready to take over billing immediately.
Common scenarios
- The founder is stepping back and handing the account to a new operator — The current Owner emails support with both names and emails. Support coordinates the change.
- You sold the business — Run the transfer alongside the asset transfer so the new Owner controls billing and Admin assignments from day one.
