Add and manage team members
Add team members in Upper Solo from the Users page. Pick a role, fill in the required fields, and the new user receives an email invitation.
Upper Solo's Users page is where Owners and Admins add team members, edit their details, or remove them. The required fields depend on the role.
Why this matters
The Users page controls who can sign in to your account and what they can do. Getting roles and fields right at creation avoids permission confusion later.
Before you start
- Plan requirement — Available on every plan.
- Permissions — Owner or Admin role required. Dispatch Managers cannot add or edit users.
- Email addresses ready — Each new user needs a unique email that isn't already on another Upper account.
Step-by-step: add a user
- Go to "Users" in the left sidebar.
- Click the "Add User" button (marked with a Plus Icon).
- Select the User Role: Admin, Dispatch Manager, or Driver.
- Fill in the required fields for that role (see table below).
- Click "Save". The user receives an email invitation.
Required fields by role
| Role | Required fields |
|---|---|
| Admin | Name, Email |
| Dispatch Manager | Name, Email |
| Driver | Name, Email, Vehicle Type, Start Address, End Address, Shift Start Time |
Additional driver fields
When adding a Driver, you can also set:
- Vehicle dimensions (height, width)
- Maximum stops per route
- Speed limit
- Highway and toll preferences
- Navigation app preference (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze)
- Map display color
- Curbside delivery preference
- Shift schedule — start time, end time, breaks
- Vehicle capacity
Step-by-step: edit or remove a user
- Go to "Users".
- Find the user in the list.
- Click the Three-dot Icon next to their name.
- Select "Edit" to update details, or "Delete" to remove them.
Deleting a user is immediate. The user loses access on their next sign-in attempt. Driver routes and POD already in the system remain in your account history.
Common scenarios
- You hired a new dispatcher and want them to manage routes only — Add them as Dispatch Manager. They get route planning, tracking, and reports without access to billing or user management.
- A driver left the team — Open the user list, click the Three-dot Icon, select "Delete". Reassign their pending routes first.
- You need someone to manage settings while you're out — Add them as Admin. Only the Owner can add other Admins.
