Create dispatch manager accounts

Add Dispatch Manager users in Upper Solo from the Users page. They run day-to-day routes and tracking but cannot change billing, settings, or team membership.

Dispatch Managers handle day-to-day route planning and monitoring in Upper Solo. This page shows how to add one, what they can access, and how to edit or remove them.

Why this matters

The Dispatch Manager role lets you delegate operations without giving full Admin access. Routes, tracking, and reports stay open — billing, user management, and account settings stay locked.

Before you start

  • Plan requirement — Available on every plan.
  • Permissions — Owner or Admin role required to add Dispatch Managers.

Step-by-step: add a Dispatch Manager

  1. Go to "Users" in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the "Add User" button (the Plus Icon).
  3. From the User Role dropdown, select "Dispatch Manager".
  4. Enter their name (required).
  5. Enter their email (required).
  6. Optionally add their phone number.
  7. Click "Save". The new Dispatch Manager receives an email invitation.

What Dispatch Managers can access

  • Route planning and optimization
  • Driver assignment and tracking
  • Live delivery monitoring
  • Report generation
  • Customer notification settings

What Dispatch Managers cannot access

  • User management
  • Billing and subscriptions
  • Company-wide settings
  • API keys

Step-by-step: edit or remove a Dispatch Manager

  1. Go to "Users".
  2. Find the user in the list.
  3. Click the Three-dot Icon in their row.
  4. Select "Edit" to update details, or "Delete" to remove them.

Removing a Dispatch Manager is immediate. They lose access on the next sign-in attempt; routes and history they created stay in your account.

Common scenarios

  • You hired an ops lead to run dispatch — Add them as Dispatch Manager. They get every operational tool without billing access.
  • A dispatcher moved into an admin role — Open Users > Three-dot Icon > Edit and change their role to Admin. The change applies immediately.
