Change distance units
Switch Upper Solo between miles and kilometers in User Settings. The change applies across the dashboard, analytics, reports, and the driver app.
Upper Solo lets you pick the distance unit used throughout the dashboard, analytics, reports, and driver app. The setting lives in User Settings.
Why this matters
Drivers, dispatchers, and exported reports all need to read distance values in the same unit. Mixing units across teams creates confusion and bad estimates.
Before you start
- Plan requirement — Available on every plan.
- Permissions — Admin role to change account-wide settings.
Step-by-step: change your distance unit
- Open Settings by clicking the Gear Icon in the top navigation.
- Go to
General > User Settings. - Find the Units setting.
- Select Miles or Kilometers.
- Click "Save".
What this changes
| Area | Impact |
|---|---|
| Route optimization | Distance calculations |
| Dashboard | Distance metrics displayed in the selected unit |
| Analytics | All distance-based KPIs |
| Reports | Exported distance values |
| Driver app | Distances shown to drivers |
Changing units recalculates displayed values; it does not change route optimization results. All team members on the account share the same unit setting.
Common scenarios
- Your team operates in the US but you started the account in metric — Switch to Miles. The next route plan opens with miles everywhere.
- You expanded into a metric region — Pick the unit that matches the majority of your operations; everyone on the account sees the same setting.
