Export a route to Excel or CSV
Export routes from Upper as Excel or CSV. Use Export Addresses for a quick address list, or the Route Plan Detailed Report in Analytics for full stop data.
Upper gives you two ways to get a route out as a spreadsheet: a quick address-only list from the route's action menu, or a full per-stop export from Analytics that includes stop status, times, notes, and proof-of-delivery details.
Which one you reach for depends on what you need the data for — a simple list of addresses, or a complete operational record for billing, payroll, or customer reporting.
This article uses Upper's default labels (Driver, Share to Drivers). Your workspace may show Technician and Service instead — the wording is configurable, so the steps are the same either way.
The two export options
| Source | What it includes | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Export Addresses (route action menu) | The stop addresses on the route | A quick address list for a driver or a planning sheet |
| Route Plan Detailed Report (Analytics) | Per-stop data — addresses, stop status, completion times, notes, and a photo column | Billing, customer reporting, and long-term records |
Export just the addresses
Use this when you only need the list of stop addresses.
Open the route's action menu
On the My Route Plan page, find the route in the list and open its … (action) menu.
Choose Export Addresses
Select Export Addresses. The stop addresses download to your computer.
Export the full route detail
Use this when you need everything on each stop — status, completion times, notes, and proof of delivery. This export lives in Analytics, where you can filter to the exact route and dates you want and choose which columns to include.
Open Analytics
Go to Analytics in the left sidebar.
Switch to the Route Plan Detailed Report
Open the View by dropdown and choose Route Plan Detailed Report. The table changes to show one row per stop.
Filter to the route you want
Open the Filters panel and set the Date Range. You can also narrow by Select Route Plan, Drivers, Route Plan Status, and Stop Status. Click Apply.
Click Export
Click the Export button (top right) to open the Export window.
Choose your format and columns
Pick CSV or XLS (Excel). On the Default tab you get the standard set of columns; switch to the Custom tab to choose exactly which fields to include and reorder them.
Start the export
Optionally tick Send e-mail when Export is complete, then click Start Export.
On the Custom tab you can include or leave out individual columns and drag them into the order you want — handy when you only need a few fields for a billing or payroll spreadsheet.
Common scenarios
- Monthly billing run — Export the Route Plan Detailed Report with the Date Range set to last month. Use the stop-status and completion-time columns to confirm which deliveries to bill.
- Customer asks for proof of a delivery — Export the detailed report filtered to that route or date; the report includes completion times and a photo column.
- Quick address sheet for a driver — Use Export Addresses from the route's action menu.
- Long-term archive — Export periodically. A saved spreadsheet stays with you regardless of what's in the app later.
Troubleshooting

Drag and drop stops between routes
Move stops between drivers in Upper using map box-select and Reassign, or pre-assign stops to a driver before you optimize a multi-driver route plan.
Filter routes
Use the Filter and search controls in My Route Plan to narrow your routes by status, date, and more so you can focus on today's runs or one driver's work.
