Delete routes
Delete a route in Upper from the Action menu on Route Plan. Deletion is permanent, so export the route first if you need the records.
Upper lets you remove a route you no longer need from your Route Plan list. You delete a route from its Action menu — the "…" icon on the route's row. Deletion is permanent, so it's worth exporting the route first if you might need the addresses or details later.
When to delete a route
Most teams rarely need to delete routes. Completed routes stay in Route Plan so you can review, report on, or export them, and filters let you hide what you don't want to see without removing anything. Delete only when you're sure you won't need the route again — for canceled runs, test plans, or duplicates created in error.
If you only want a route out of your day-to-day view, filter the Route Plan list by date or status instead of deleting. The route stays in the system and you can bring it back by clearing the filter. See Filter routes by status, date, or driver.
Delete versus clear
The route's Action menu has two related options:
- Delete Route removes the entire route plan from your list.
- Clear Route empties the stops from a route but keeps the route plan itself, so you can reuse the plan with a new set of stops.
If you want to keep the route plan and just start over with different stops, use Clear Route rather than deleting.
Before you delete
Deletion can't be undone, so check these first:
- Export anything you need. Once a route is deleted you can't get it back. Use Export Addresses from the same Action menu, or run a report, before you delete. See Export a route to Excel or CSV.
- Account for a dispatched route. If the route was already shared to drivers, let the driver know it's canceled. See Recall a dispatched route.
Deleting a route is permanent. The route and its stops are removed from Route Plan and can't be recovered. If you may need the data for reporting, billing, or your own records, export it first.
Delete a route
Open Route Plan
In the left sidebar, open the Plan group and select Route Plan.
Find the route
Locate the route you want to remove in the My Route Plan list. Use Search or the Filter dropdown to narrow the list if you have many routes.
Open the Action menu
On the route's row, click the "…" Action icon to open its menu.
Select Delete Route
Choose Delete Route (shown in red at the bottom of the menu), then confirm.
Your workspace may label drivers as technicians, so some menu items can read Share To Technician instead of Share to Drivers. The Delete Route and Export Addresses options are the same in either case.
