Configure ETA display on tracking pages

Choose how the ETA shows on Upper's customer tracking page — time window, exact time, or stops away — from Settings > Branded Tracking > Display.

Choose how the estimated time of arrival (ETA) appears to customers on your Upper tracking page. You can show it as a time window, an exact time, or a count of stops away — whichever fits how your customers plan around the arrival.

The ETA control lives on the Branded Tracking settings page, under the Display tab, alongside the other toggles that decide what customers see while they wait.

Labels can vary by workspace. This article uses the default delivery labels. A workspace set up for service businesses may show "Service" wording instead, but the ETA setting works the same way.

The tracking page and its updating ETA are available on the Professional, Optimize, and Enterprise plans. The live driver-on-map view (Show Map) requires the Optimize or Enterprise plan; the ETA display covered here works on Professional as well.

Before you start

  • Where it lives — The ETA controls are on the Branded Tracking settings page, under the Display tab.
  • Customer tracking enabled — Customers see the ETA on the tracking page they open from a notification, so customer tracking needs to be in use.

ETA display formats

Turn Show ETA on to reveal the ETA Display Format dropdown. It offers three formats:

FormatCustomer sees
Time Window"9:00 AM - 10:00 AM"
Exact Time"9:23 AM"
Stops Away"3 stops away"

Time Window is the default.

Set the ETA format

Open Settings

Go to Manage > Settings, then open Branded Tracking in the NOTIFICATIONS group.

Go to the Display tab

Select the Display tab. You'll see the Display Controls that decide what information appears on the tracking page.

Turn on Show ETA

Switch Show ETA on. The ETA Display Format dropdown appears below it.

Choose a format

Open the ETA Display Format dropdown and pick Time Window, Exact Time, or Stops Away.

Save your changes

Save the page. The tracking page now shows the ETA in the format you chose.

Use the Preview tab on the same page to see how the ETA looks with your current settings before customers do.

How the ETA is calculated

ETAs are based on historical traffic data and update as the route progresses. The format you choose only changes how the time is displayed — it does not change how the ETA itself is calculated.

The format applies to all of your customer tracking pages. You cannot set a different ETA format per route or per customer.

Hide the ETA

If you would rather not show an arrival time at all, turn Show ETA off. The ETA Display Format dropdown disappears and customers no longer see an arrival time on the tracking page.
