Dispatch And Tracking

View driver locations on the map

Track your drivers in Upper from the Live Tracking page: the map shows each route's path and numbered stops, with per-driver cards for stops done, ETA, and progress.

Upper's Live Tracking page puts your dispatched route on a map next to a list of driver cards. The map draws the route path and numbered stops, and each card shows how far along that driver is — stops done, distance, time, and ETA — so you can see how a route is going at a glance.

Upper uses driver labels by default — your workspace may show Technician and Service instead (for example, the route-sharing action may read "Share to Technician"). The screens work the same way whichever labels you see.

Before you start

  • A route plan has been dispatched to your drivers using Share to Drivers.
  • Drivers are running the route in the Upper Route Planner driver app with location turned on, so their progress can report back.

Open Live Tracking

Go to Live Tracking

In the left navigation, open Track → Live Tracking.

Choose the route plan

Use the route/period selector at the top to pick the plan you want to follow. The selector lists your route plans (including copied and zone-based plans). Use the Search field to find a specific driver or stop.

Read the map and the driver cards

The map panel on the right shows the route line and numbered stop pins. The list on the left shows one card per driver with their live progress.

What each driver card shows

Each card in the left list summarizes one driver's route:

On the cardWhat it tells you
Driver name and avatarWhich driver the card is for.
Stops done / total · time · distanceProgress through the route, e.g. "Stops 0/12 · 6h 22m 1s · 93.48 miles".
Status pillThe driver's current route state, e.g. Not Started.
Route Complete X%How much of the route is finished.
ETA and Avg. SpeedEstimated time and average speed. Avg. Speed shows N/A until the route is in progress.
View DetailsExpands an inline table of that driver's stops.

ETAs are calculated from your route data and historical traffic patterns, not from a live traffic feed, so treat them as a strong estimate.

See the path a driver actually drove

Use the Show Actual Path button to overlay the route the driver has actually traveled on top of the planned route line. The button changes to Hide Actual Path while the overlay is on — select it again to turn the overlay off.

Choose the columns in the stop table

Select View Details on a card to open that driver's inline stop table, then use Edit Column to choose which columns appear.

Open the column picker

Select Edit Column to open the column settings.

Pick and order your columns

Move columns between the available list and the Selected Column list, and reorder the selected ones. Available columns include Full Address, Company Name, Estimated Duration, Actual Duration, Estimated Distance, Start Time, End Time, Reason, Notes, Note for Team, Note from Driver, Photo, Signature, Contact Name, Phone, Email, and Status.

Save or reset

Select Done to apply your columns, Cancel to discard, or Restore Default Settings to return to the default layout.

Pick an address-focused column set when you're locating drivers and stops, and switch to a distance- and duration-focused set when you're reviewing how long the route is taking.
