Export contacts

Export your Upper contacts from the Contacts page — all of them or only the ones matching your active filters. Useful for backups and moving data to other systems.

Upper lets you export your contact list from the Contacts page so you can keep a backup or move the data into another system. You can export your whole address book, or filter the list first and export only the contacts that match.

This article uses Upper's default driver/delivery labels (such as Delivery and Pre Assigned Drivers). Your workspace may be configured to show Technician/Service terms instead — the labels are configurable per workspace, but the steps are the same.

Why export your contacts

A regular export is the simplest way to keep a copy of your address book outside Upper. It's also the standard way to hand contact data to a spreadsheet, a CRM, or another tool.

Deleted contacts can't be recovered, so a saved export file is your safest backup. If you rely on a subset — a city, a state, or a custom-field group — filter to it first and export just those rows.

Before you start

  • Where it lives — Open Manage > Contacts and stay on the My Contacts tab. The Export button (blue) sits in the top-right of the page.
  • Filter first if you want a subset — Apply filters in the list before exporting. The export respects whatever is currently filtered.

Export your contacts

Open the Contacts page

In the left sidebar, go to Manage > Contacts and make sure you're on the My Contacts tab.

Filter the list (optional)

If you only want part of your address book, open the Filter dropdown and narrow the list — by City, State, or any Contact custom field your workspace has set up. To export everything, leave the filters cleared.

Open the export

Click the Export button in the top-right. An Export window opens.

Choose which fields to include

In the Export window you can keep the Default field set or switch to Custom to pick and reorder the fields you want in the file.

Download the file

Confirm the export to download your contacts. If filters were active, the file contains only the contacts that matched them.

What gets exported

The export includes your contact fields — such as Full Name, Address, Company Name, Email, Phone, Nick Name, and Note — along with any Contact custom fields your workspace has configured. Choosing Custom in the Export window lets you control exactly which fields are written and in what order.

When filters are applied, only the contacts matching the current filters are included.
